i haven't blogged in a while... a few days... so sorry... i know so many have come to depend on my daily ramblings... i don't know how you all have survived until now...

S and i just got finished watching Unbreakable... i saw it in the theater though... ok... the write/producer/director is the same guy that wrote/produced/directed The 6th Sense... so... i ask you this... in The 6th Sense there was all this repetition of the color red... red represented that which was tainted somehow by the dead... either in a good or bad or neutral way... now... in Unbreakable there was a repition of the color purple... purple was always around when Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) was around... the lining of his jack, his shirt when they showed him as a kid, the present his mom got him was wrapped in purple paper, the walls of a room in his house, other clothes he wore... what did the purple represent?? another theme... the 1st 3 times that Elijah's character was shown, the introduced him into the scene by showing his reflection... what does that mean?? AND... i noticed a lot of upside-down-ness in the movie... David Dunn's (Bruce Willis) 1st scene in the movie involved him looking at a little girl hanging upside-down on the train, and he tilted his head to look at her, David's son's 1st scene--he was watching tv while laying upside-down on the couch, Elijah after falling down the steps was laying upside-down on the stairs looking at the guy he was chasing--making it an upside-down image, when Elijah's mom gave him the present he held it upside-down... what does that represent??? all these questions!!!!!! how to answer them???? please someone else watch the move and give me your input..... PLEASE!!!

OOOO!! answers to my questions!!!! the other dvd that came with the movie had all kinds of behind the scenes and stuff... and this is what they said..................

reflections - how he exists on 2 levels... in 2 worlds... symmetry... how everything and everyone has an exact opposite (though a reflection's certainly not an opposite.......... hmmm??) but, the reflections DO represent how he has 2 sides... reality and the comic book unreality...

purple - represents royalness... Elijah's character was supposed to be strong... and he was supposed to be an elegant kind of character...i'm not sure how he was supposed to be elegant...

upside-down - invertedness of the movie... how you perceive things at 1st is not necessarily how they are... they can appear one way and then they change... like the story... the whole movie... you think it's going to go one way... and then it doesn't...

this is cool... so like... everything i saw in the movie, or thought i saw, i really did see... they did all of that on purpose.. i'm so good... :)
